Ashlee first became interested in wellness coaching while preparing for a number of fitness competitions and as a nurse working in adult rehabilitation. Ashlee experienced troubling effects on her physical and mental states due to restrictive dieting and found her patients suffering from chronic fatigue, irritability, and depression consistently. After evaluating her problems and those of her patients - based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Human Needs - Ashlee began to understand that wellness and proper nutrition were root causes. These understandings inspired Ashlee to return to school and become a health and wellness coach.
